Hilltop Artists Day Volunteers

On Sunday, April 23rd, we will be celebrating Kit Evans, our departing Executive Director, for her 10 years at Hilltop Artists with some special events at Museum of Glass. We will need volunteer help to make these events a success. Specific volunteer jobs are still being finalized. Please sign up to participate as a general volunteer and we will be in touch with specific events in the weeks to come. Shifts will be available from approximately 8 to 5 pm.

Please contact Ellen, Volunteer Manager, at earonson@hilltopartists.org with any questions.

Arts Connect Volunteer Driver

We are seeking volunteers to provide transportation for students in Arts Connect, our program for court-involved girls.

Volunteers must be at least 21, female, and pass a background check through Pierce County Juvenile Court. Volunteers are also required to use Court vehicles to drive girls to and from class. Classes are held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4 to 6:30 pm at a local Tacoma school.

Transportation volunteers are critical to the program's success and often become a trusted adult that both research and our experience shows is meaningful to the long-term outcomes for young women. Volunteers are invited to stay through class and become a part of the class community, however at times, volunteers have also used class time to get their own homework or case notes completed.

Once you sign up, we will connect you with the information to get a background check and provide more specific details about this volunteer opportunity.  If you have any questions, please contact Ellen Aronson, Volunteer Manager, at earonson@hilltopartists.org

Arts Connect Winter Dinner Volunteer

Arts Connect is Hilltop Artists' program for court-involved girls. Each week we provide a healthy family-style dinner for the group and we are looking for volunteers to help provide meals for the program. We prefer to have volunteers who are able to make a regular commitment of once a month or once every other month, if possible.

The meal can be home-cooked or something that you pick-up and just deliver. We provide plates, bowls, utensils, napkins, cups, and serving utensils. Each meal should provide for 13 people.  Arts Connect is held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at a local Tacoma school. Dinner begins promptly at 6 pm. You can drop it off anytime between 3 and 5:50 pm but keep in mind we don't have any way to re-heat meals if they need to be hot.  A program crock pot is available, but needs to be arranged ahead of time.  You will need to transfer the meal to our program crock pot on the day of your meal as the crockpot can not be provided in advance.

Volunteers for this must be over 21 years of age and be willing to go through an in-depth background check through Pierce County Juvenile Court. Once you sign up, we will connect you with the information to get a background check and work with you to plan meals based on the participants' dietary restrictions and known food preferences, etc.
